Social Media Panel Discussion

Posted by David Gallant | April 28, 2009 .

Today our founder David Gallant will be discussing the interaction between social media and the job hunt. Using the internet is vitally important to finding a job because it allows applicants to stand out of the crowd and be noticed.   Also, many employers look to Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter for a first phase of research. David will be discussing how he connected with his current employer, a Boston area Marketing and PR agency with the use of Twitter.

The panel consists of David Gallant(GARFIELD GROUP), Rory Keohane(OAT PR), and Jeff Taylor(EONS, TRIBUTES, MONSTER)

It is said that it is nearly impossible to find a job while cold-calling HR representatives and that having a connection to a company is a necessity to finding that perfect career. Using social networking tools like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, this session will cover in great detail ways to leverage the system to your advantage.  Our speakers are at the heart of the online job hunt industry, having founded their own websites for job searchers or serving as examples of successful social media ventures.  Don’t miss out on the chance to hear their experiences and discuss tactics for the job hunt for both employers and future employees.
